Volunteers help in Brookside’s garden

April 20th saw volunteers arrive at Brookside Museum to lend a hand wielding a shovel to aid creating the new ‘green’ fountain area in Brookside’s Gardens, under the direction of Chip’s Landscaping.

This is the fourth annual Green Build sponsored by Chip’s Landscaping and Kohl’s Department Stores.

Design will include a pondless waterfall with natural stream, and rainwater harvesting system to capture and reuse rainwater from the extensive Museum roof system.

Joy Houle says, “I’m very excited about the project, not only because it’s ‘green’ and beautiful, but also because it should draw visitors to the museum’s beautiful site, where they can see an eco system at work.” Visit brooksidemuseum.org
