If you haven’t been to the Fasig Tipton Auction Sales, put it on your calendar for next year.
The Sales have free admittance and you will wander among Arab princes, Kentucky blue bloods, Danyon Runyon Guy’s ‘n Dolls sports and just plain folks.
You won’t be able to sit in the Auction Pavilion where the Sales happen (all seats reserved for buyers and sellers) but you can wander the balcony and watch all the bidding.
First night August 4 saw Hip 81 go for $1,150,000.
There are four nights of action every August. It starts with two nights of select yearings (these are the ones that can go for over a million). Hip 150 went for $1,250,00 on Night Two.

If you want art that isn’t moving, the balcony walls are lined with equine art for sale and you are encouraged to browse.
Total Sales for the two nights: $33,284,000.
This was $1,414,000 greater than last year.
