The choice of theme for the March concert by Geyser Road's third grade chorus was driven by some displays on the history and culture of many nations of Africa. A few were on display at the back of the stage during the performance..
Not only the songs were African, but so were accompanying musical instruments, like the african born drums and xylophones.
One song featured an accompaniment that included the rhythmic use of dropped stones, referencing how some instrument poor African communities have worked hard to make music with anything they have available.
After the concert, the PTA offered ice cream for sale.
