Mad Dog Mania gets Gavin Welcome

It's the big Youth Soccer event that ends the spring season. 114 teams from the Northeast and Canada gathered at Gavin Park Saturday and Sunday June 23 & 24.

This the Showcase for college coaches of up-and-coming soccer talent. In its 10th year the Showcase has proven itself to be a valuable tool for coaches to review and see talent from all over the Northeast.

As always, visitors to Gavin Park have raved over the quality of the playing fields - and the number available for play. With ten fields available and all seeing action at same time that may require a little running on the coach's part.

With 114 teams, parents, coaches and supporters every spot in the parking overflow lot was filled and the extra spaces at Dorothy Nolan School were quickly taken.

Nice plus for local restaurants and motels.

Oh, and don't forget Wilton Youth Baseball. Closing day ceremonies were also held Saturday June 23 to mark the end of the spring season.

Our compliments to Gavin Park staff who were handling a lot - really a lot of vehicles - smoothly and little fuss.
