After two years of no snow and cancelled moonlight skis, February 15 had more than enough snow.
Great evening (little overcast - but not too much), not too cold, the lumenarias were lit and lining the miles of trails of the Preserve.
Two bonfires had hot cocoa to warm skiers and snowshoers and the parking lots were filled to capacity.
For families who had never tried snowshoeing, rentals were available in the warming hut.
This is the big event at the Preserve and families respond. Great introduction to the miles of trail comprising the Preserve on both sides of Route 50.
There’s still plenty of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing ahead in March.
