ABC News did not go out on a limb when they said Saratoga Springs has one of the top ten Fourth of July Celebrations in America.
With the day starting with over 3,000 runners traveling the streets of Saratoga (see Page 10) the fun continued with the parade of classic cars and dogs with happy owners down Broadway to Congress Park.
Then the cars took up their positions on the hill in the Park - and for car connoisseurs hoods up to show-off sparkling engines.
Congress Park would remain a center of activity with the Historical Society having outside booths to give information about our City - and even to do some face painting.
Civil War and earlier Revolutionary War re-enactors answered questions. Authentic uniforms (re-enactors do not use polyester) made it a hot day for them.
The Carousal delighted kids and families. And of course, when the sun went down, fireworks filled the sky over the Park.
Broadway restaurants were doing BBQ and desert ($1 dollar specials). Caught General Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne in full dress uniform outside Impressions giving his terrier a drink of water..
Glorious day - Glorious Fourth - Glorious Saratoga.
